New Baby Sibling Stories for Kids
A new baby changes everything for an older child: who gets attention, how the house sounds at night, and where they fit in the family. Many kids are excited and worried at the same time, and most don't have the words for it yet.
A story gives them those words. They watch a character worry that the new baby won't like them, then discover that love has room to grow bigger. DandyTale makes a brand-new illustrated story about becoming a big sibling, written at the right reading level for your child.

When to read a big sibling story
There's no single right time, and many families read one more than once:
- During the pregnancy, once your child knows a baby is coming, so the idea becomes familiar.
- In the last few weeks before the birth, to talk about who will look after them while you're at the hospital.
- After the baby comes home, when the newness wears off and big feelings often show up.
Making space for mixed feelings
It's normal for an older child to feel proud one minute and jealous or left out the next. A story lets them see a character feel both, without it being about them directly.
- Pause and ask how the character is feeling. It's often easier for kids to talk about a character's feelings than their own.
- Point out what the big sibling can do that the baby can't yet: talk, play, help, choose.
- Keep the story for bedtime. A calm, familiar story helps when the house is noisier than usual.
More family moments
The Story Studio also has stories about planting a tree for the new baby and meeting a new baby cousin, plus other family milestones like a first sleepover or a new puppy. Each idea above opens the Story Studio with that story already picked. You just choose the reading age and a character.
Questions parents ask
What ages are the big sibling stories for?

A few minutes. You answer a few quick questions, and DandyTale writes the story and illustrates every page.
